Kootastha Veda Shastra Poshaka Sangha is a registered religious trust. The trust has been formed with the sole objective of promoting the study of the Vedas and the Shastras.
The trust has been formed in the memory of Nigamagama Praveena Chatusshastra vidvan Kota Vasudeva Somayaji. During his life time he had plans of forming the trust with the above objectives in mind. But trust could not be formed due to various reasons. The ardent desire of Sri Somayaji is being fulfilled with the formation of this trust.
1. In achieving the primary objective of the trust, it is utilizing major part of its income in honoring the teacher/s of Sri Vani Vilasini Samskrata Pathashala and awarding annual scholarships to the students studying in this school . This school has history of more than hundred years and even today students come from far off places to study in Gurukula style. Incidentally that it was here that Sri Somayaji had his primary education.
2. Trust in principle has decided to extend its activities by awarding scholarships to students studying in Maharaja’s Samskrata College, Mysuru where Sri Somayaji not only studied several Shastras, but also taught as a professor.
The trust was registered in May 2004 at Bengaluru and its affairs are managed by board of trustees.

Now, the reprinting and marketing rights of the works of Sri. Somayaji rests with this trust. The sale proceeds of these works add to the income of the trust.
The trust has been recognised by Indian Income Tax Authorities as a 'Wholly Charitable Trust. under Chapter 12A. (vide their recognition letter No. DIT(E)/12A/Vol.IV/K-759/W-1/05-06 dated 30/09/05)

Transparency in our operations/activities can be assessed by the very fact that we are one of the few trusts, to publish donors list and financial statements from the very first year of formation of the trust.
